Meet the Orange County Team Behind Sutton ADU Orange County

The crew you’ll see on your Orange County lot is small on purpose. We don’t rotate strangers through your backyard. Every Sutton ADU build here is run by the same core group: a lead technician who walks the site before we quote, a senior installer who’s framed more ADUs than most people have toured, a service coordinator who answers the phone, and an apprentice learning the trade the right way. They’re background-checked, identity-verified, uniformed, and photo-badged under the Threshold Standard. You’ll know who’s coming to your door before they arrive, because Miles sends their name and photo ahead of every visit. No surprises, no unmarked trucks, no mystery subs.

Our People

A new modern ADU with wood cladding

Daniel R. – Lead Technician, ADU Site Assessments

Daniel has spent 14 years in residential construction across Southern California, the last six focused almost entirely on accessory dwelling units and room additions. He’s the first person on your property, and the one who reads the lot for what it actually is: slope, soil movement patterns, existing utility runs, and where a prefab module can realistically land given your setbacks (the required gap between your new structure and the property line). He’s certified in James Hardie cladding installation and has completed factory training with Abodu and Cover. Outside work, Daniel restores old woodworking hand planes and has a soft spot for mid-century Orange County ranch houses. He’ll talk joinery with you for longer than you probably want.

Luis M. – Senior Installer, ADU Framing and Finishes

Luis has been building in Orange County since 2009, and with Sutton ADU since the location’s first year. He runs the structural side of most builds: foundation interface for prefab modules, interior finish work, siding systems, and the detail work that separates a good ADU from one that looks like a kit. He’s factory-authorized on Dvele and Plant Prefab systems and handles most of our Tuff Shed conversion framing. Luis is notorious on the crew for carrying a small notebook where he sketches every odd framing condition he’s solved on a job. He says it’s for the apprentice. It’s mostly for the apprentice. It’s also the reason our builds don’t have mystery gaps at the roofline.

Priya S. – Service Coordinator, Orange County

Priya is the voice on the phone when you call (350) 209-9049 with a question about your estimate, a scheduling change, or a warranty follow-up. She’s been with the Threshold Group family for eight years, the last four with Sutton ADU. Her job is simple to describe and hard to do well: you get a written price before any work starts, and if something fails within the first year, she’s the one who gets the crew back to your lot at no charge under the 365-Day Done Right Promise. Priya knows the Orange County permit offices well enough to tell you which city’s plan checkers are running three weeks behind this month, and she’ll be straight with you about it. She keeps a framed map of every Orange County neighborhood we’ve built in, with a small dot for each completed ADU.

Owen T. – Apprentice, Field Support

Owen joined Sutton ADU two years ago after working residential rough-in for a local plumbing contractor. He’s on site for most builds, handling material staging, site prep, cleanup, and the hundreds of small tasks that keep a project moving without drama. He’s currently working through his James Hardie installation certification under Daniel and Luis, and he’s the one who’ll be at your door with a photo badge when a delivery arrives on short notice. Owen grew up in Garden Grove and has strong opinions about which taco spot each Orange County neighborhood does best. His accuracy rate on that subject is, by his own admission, around 70 percent.

One Standard, Every Job

The Threshold Standard isn’t a plaque on a wall. It’s the operating system for this crew. A written price before any work begins means Daniel doesn’t show up with a contract that quietly grows by 18 percent halfway through framing. The 365-Day Done Right Promise means if workmanship fails within a full calendar year of project completion, Luis and Owen come back and fix it, no haggling and no invoice. Free second visit is part of that same promise. Every technician on your property is vetted the same way: background-checked, identity-verified, uniformed, and photo-badged, with a name and photo sent to you before arrival. It’s a system, not a mood. That’s what keeps the work consistent from one Orange County lot to the next, whether it’s a detached ADU in Fullerton, a garage conversion in Santa Ana, or a room addition in Mission Viejo. Miles holds the standard. The team builds to it.
